During Mass Appeal's recent AMA session on Reddit's HipHopHeads thread, the label/publication hinted that they'd be behind the release of an album from a New Orleans legend this year-- while some hypothesized they were referring to Lil Wayne, it seems the real N.O. legend is Mannie Fresh. Today Mass Appeal has released the first single from Mannie's upcoming album, which finds him linking with his once-frequent collaborators and fellow OGs, Lil Wayne, Birdman and Juvie, for "Hate."
The song recalls Cash Money's heyday, with a bouncy arrangement of drums, synths joined by chiming bells and rounds of clapping. Does it live up to your expectations of such a collaboration?
